2nd Shift Production Supervisor – Food

Our company is a protein processor with multiple facilities that distribute products to various sectors, including Retail, Foodservice, and Industrial. We specialize in Beef, Chicken, and Pork products, such as Portion Control products, Marinated Meats, Fresh Ground Beef, and Fully Cooked and Raw products.

We are currently hiring a 2nd Shift Food Production Supervisor for our facility in Greeley, CO. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising our production employees to ensure optimal quality, service, and efficiency to achieve operational excellence. Your main focus will be on the safety, development, and retention of your team. As a frontline leader, you will also be responsible for logistics, production, food safety, employee engagement, teamwork, and coaching. Additionally, you will work closely with business partners to ensure a seamless flow of product and drive continuous improvement.


• Directly oversee the day-to-day production operations, including scheduling, raw and finished goods, to achieve targets in yields, gross margins, and efficiency. Delegate work assignments, prioritize duties, and schedule employees to optimize production and sanitation functions. Provide training and create an environment for employees to maximize their quality and productivity performance.

• Take the lead in loss prevention, risk management, USDA compliance, and labor/employee relations within your assigned areas of responsibility. Promote good communication and employee involvement to foster positive department and company relationships. Work with Human Resources to recruit, select, train, develop, and retain qualified talent. Focus on training and developing existing staff for engagement and succession planning.

• Ensure that employees meet Performance Measurement Standards in terms of productivity, attendance, tardiness, safety, and quality. Communicate pertinent information to employees regarding daily, event, or seasonal business issues. Train staff and reduce turnover to establish an engaged workforce that supports business objectives.

• Collaborate with the Operation Manager and other Supervisors to maintain knowledge of yields, quality, and variances. Evaluate processes, methods, and equipment performance to make recommendations for continuous improvement. Act as a technical resource to address and resolve production, quality, and work problems.

• Conduct routine inspections of the production floor to identify and address any unsafe acts or conditions. Take immediate corrective action to meet plant safety goals. Actively participate in safety efforts, such as attending safety meetings, conducting incident investigations, assisting in root cause analysis, and performing audits. Train employees to ensure adherence to safe operating procedures.

• Maintain control of departmental supplies, tools, and equipment. Complete all required production paperwork, including corrective actions, terminations, performance records, inventory, inspection, quality reports, and maintenance work orders.

• Ensure adequate knowledge of products and equipment to effectively guide employees and maintain product specifications throughout the manufacturing process. Follow HACCP and USDA regulations, taking corrective actions and providing training as needed.

Reports to: Production Manager


• Possess at least 3 years of progressive leadership experience in relevant commercial food operations, preferably within a protein-related industry.

• Previous food processing experience, manufacturing knowledge, and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures is preferred.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiarity with industry product reporting systems.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver presentations on potentially controversial issues, influencing positive outcomes among groups with varying positions.

• Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.

• Strong reading and interpretation skills, paying attention to grammar. Ability to process routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions, problem-solve, and deal with concrete variables in standardized situations. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are required.

• Proficient mathematical skills for calculations and problem-solving associated with operational-level process issues.
