Shift Manager for Overnight Production (job description)

Our partner, a renowned Printing and Packaging Company, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Shift Manager to oversee their overnight production in Florence, KY.

Position Summary:

• Lead and manage a team of Finishing/Gluing employees during the overnight shift.

• Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, focusing on safety, product quality, material waste, and labor management.

• Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, capital investment, and organizational development initiatives.

Supervise a team of 30 individuals on the overnight shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take operational charge of the department's activities.

• Lead and direct the team to achieve set objectives.

• Manage operating costs for the shift.

• Supervise associates and ensure compliance with policies and legal regulations.

• Implement safety initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.

• Ensure adherence to quality standards.

• Promote a culture of participation, innovation, and process improvement. Foster commitment and teamwork among associates.

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.

• Promote openness, honesty, and integrity within the team through effective communication and associate relation practices.

• Production spoilage rates

• Labor efficiency rates

• Safety records and incidents

• Operating budget compliance

• Customer and supplier satisfaction levels

• 8-color flexographic wide web printing press

• 7.5-ton overhead crane

• Core baler

• Safety knife

• Basic hand tools

Shift Schedule:

• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
