Accountant – Manufacturing
Location: Elizabeth, NJ (On-site)

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team. This key role supports the integrity of financial reporting, drives the monthly close process, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

The right candidate will bring a solid foundation in general accounting, hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams such as operations, purchasing, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end and year-end closings by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data

• Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets

• Reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts in coordination with plant and supply chain teams

• Support fixed asset management and prepare depreciation schedules

• Help develop standard costs and perform cost variance analysis

• Uphold internal accounting controls and assist with external audit processes

• Create ad hoc reports and provide financial insights to guide decision-making

• Work closely with A/P and A/R to resolve discrepancies and maintain data integrity

• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by supplying relevant financial information

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger functions

• Experience with inventory and cost accounting is highly preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, JD Edwards, or NetSuite is a plus

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks

• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
