Joint Interest Billing (JIB)
Location: Houston, TX, or Morgantown, WV

Our client, a recognized leader in the natural resources industry, is looking for a committed Joint Interest Billing (JIB)/Accountant to join their accounting team. This full-time position involves the handling of invoices, management of vendor payments, and assistance with joint interest billing tasks to guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review and validate invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes and input invoices into the accounting system, ensuring precise allocation to cost centers, accounts, and joint interest projects.
• Process vendor payments through check and perform necessary reconciliations.
• Handle inquiries and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, account balances, and joint interest billing.
• Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of joint interest billings.
• Facilitate year-end audit activities by providing necessary documentation and support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, with a strong preference for experience in joint interest billing or the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data entry and analysis.
• Familiarity with Open Invoice or similar software is a plus.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate professionally with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
