Accounting Associate (hourly position, starting pay around $21/hr)


Description of Responsibilities

The Finance Associate will assist the Finance Manager in handling day-to-day accounting functions and financial transactions for the pharmacy department.

Finance Manager

Responsibilities of the Finance Associate include the following:

1. Ensure appropriate handling of banking tasks, including timely deposits, allocation of change among cash tills, and daily reporting from RX30, NetRX, and other required systems.

2. Pull and sort invoices and packing slips found within the pharmacy and incoming mail on a daily basis.

3. Enter invoices into appropriate locations once all necessary documentation has been completed.

4. Complete weekly processing of accounts payable as directed by the Finance Manager.

5. Assist the Finance Manager in reconciling credit card statements.

6. Contribute to fostering a positive work climate and overall team effort within the pharmacy.

7. Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Human Resources department.

8. Participate in pharmacy committees as needed.

9. Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.

10. Pursue continuing education programs relevant to job responsibilities.

11. Perform other assigned duties as directed by the Finance Manager and/or President.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Must possess organizational skills to maintain consistently accurate records.

2. Associate degree in accounting or 2 years of previous accounting or business experience.

3. Awareness of general accounting and financial management principles.

4. Aptitude for evaluating options and making efficient decisions.

5. Proficiency in using spreadsheets and word processing software, as well as competent use of the internet and email.

Physical Requirements

1. The employee must regularly stand, walk, and sit, as well as communicate verbally and listen attentively

2. The employee will use hands to operate office equipment and vehicles as required

3. Occasionally, the employee may need to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds

4. This job requires specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
