Audit Specialist - Accounting Manager

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager with a focus on audits to join our dynamic and expanding real estate company in Scottsdale, AZ. In this newly established role, you will lead audits for multiple entities and provide crucial oversight of accounting functions across various departments and divisions.

Primary Responsibilities

- Take charge of conducting thorough and accurate financial assessments for entities

- Create consolidated financial statements and maintain comprehensive supporting documentation

- Manage relationships with auditors and oversee external audits

- Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures

- Develop and maintain internal controls to protect company assets

- Provide expert financial accounting guidance throughout the organization

- Stay updated with new accounting pronouncements and implement policies as required

- Analyze financial data to enhance systems and performance

- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic projects and corporate financial decisions

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred

- Possess 4+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting (US GAAP)

- Extensive audit experience, ideally with a reputable accounting firm

- Additional experience in the real estate industry is advantageous

- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in accounting systems

- Strongly prefer CPA certification

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

- Familiarity with ERP software systems
