After Hours Hospice RN
We are currently searching for a caring and empathetic Hospice Nurse to provide comfort and support to patients who are nearing the end of their lives. Your presence and expertise in providing care will contribute to the patient's well-being and create an environment of tranquility during this sensitive journey.
Responsibilities of a Hospice Nurse:
- Collaborating with doctors, social workers, chaplains, nursing assistants, and other team members to coordinate care for terminally ill patients.
- Developing and adapting personalized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Regularly monitoring patients' vital signs and ensuring their physical comfort.
- Administering prescribed treatments and providing pain management medications.
- Keeping doctors updated on any changes in patients' conditions.
- Supporting loved ones and primary caregivers by providing information, education about end-of-life care, and emotional assistance.
- Maintaining accurate medical records, patient files, and health documentation.
- Notifying attending physicians, hospice team members, and family members when a patient passes away.
- Preferably an associate's degree in nursing.
- Must be a registered nurse with a valid license.
- At least one year of professional nursing experience.
- Prior experience in general medical surgical nursing or specialization in a specific patient population (e.g. geriatrics, pediatrics, etc.).
- Willingness to be on-call as required.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are essential.
