Application Engineer (Power Generation - Excitation)

💼 Full-Time | Reports to: Regional Sales Manager – Power Generation

🚨 Must-Haves (Please Read Before Applying):

• BSEE degree or equivalent technical experience

• 10+ years of experience in power generation systems and analog/digital circuitry (or 5+ years as a Systems Application Specialist)

• Strong background in system-level engineering, start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting

• Willingness to travel up to 50% across the U.S. and Canada

• Proven experience supporting technical sales teams and engaging with customers on-site

About the Role:

We’re hiring a remote-based Application Specialist – Systems to serve as a key technical resource supporting power generation customers and internal sales teams across North America. In this dynamic role, you’ll apply your technical expertise to help customers select, implement, and optimize complex systems and components.

You'll also provide valuable insights to product marketing teams, assist with new product development, lead field support efforts, and present solutions at conferences and industry events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide customers in product selection and systems integration

• Provide technical support, including installation, startup, calibration, and troubleshooting

• Travel to customer sites to assess needs, recommend solutions, and assist sales efforts

• Collaborate with sales teams across regions to deliver timely technical support

• Present solutions at customer meetings, technical conferences, and training sessions

• Support promotion activities, including trade shows, technical literature, and product launches

• Interface with marketing and engineering teams to deliver valuable market feedback

• Help define market needs and gather competitive intelligence

• Create technical sales tools like application notes and system documentation

• Mentor and lead other application specialists on technical strategy and execution
