Applications Development Chemist

Position Overview
As an Applications Development Chemist, you will work in a cutting-edge laboratory environment focused on formulation preparation, material characterizations, coating application, and comparative bench marking. Your main responsibility will be gaining an in-depth understanding of our product portfolio and its performance in coating applications. Additionally, you will provide technical service to our customers alongside the Sales & Marketing team.

Responsibilities
- Utilize your expertise and experience to evaluate newly developed resin systems, providing valuable insight and direction to our R&D team
- Play a significant role in project management and new product development, collaborating closely with both technical and business-oriented teams
- Develop a thorough understanding of our product portfolio, including technology, usage, market trends, and value propositions
- Assist in the development and organization of technical and environmental data, such as technical data sheets, brochures, and launch packages
- Provide technical guidance and support to our Sales and Marketing teams
- Represent our organization in relevant forums and conferences related to your area of expertise
Required Skills and Experience
- 10-15 years of experience in formulation and application, including product development, formulation, and structure-property relationships
- Experience working in a coatings and/or paint laboratory, with knowledge of milling pigments, formulation preparation, material characterizations, and coating application equipment
- Desireable experience with solvent borne materials and polymer chemistry
- Experience in the automotive coatings industry is a plus
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and best practices
- Proficiency in experimental planning, data analysis, and written communication in English
- Availability to travel domestically up to 10-15%
Qualifications
- Master's or bachelor's degree in a scientific field, with a preference for chemistry or polymer chemistry
