Assistant Plant Manager - Metal Manufacturing
Location: El Monte, CA

Our client is a highly regarded metal processing company seeking a dedicated Assistant Plant Manager to join their team in El Monte, CA. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring adherence to policies and developing efficient processes to optimize safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage plant and warehouse activities, including production scheduling, maintenance, quality control, shipping, and receiving, to drive maximum efficiency.
  • Streamline workflow efficiency by prioritizing interactions between production, shipping, receiving, and truck loading.
  • Devise and implement a proactive strategy to uphold a safe working environment compliant with OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and managing priorities.
  • Maintain a robust quality system to ensure high product standards and on-time delivery.
  • Identify and implement corrective measures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance through preventative and predictive strategies.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities for safety, quality, and financial improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations in equipment, materials, and tool usage.
  • Promote positive employee relations to enhance morale and engagement.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bilingualism (Spanish) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a metal manufacturing environment in a similar leadership capacity.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute daily activities efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a firm grasp of mathematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve operational challenges effectively.
  • Knowledge of best practices in safety, quality, productivity, inventory management, and stewardship.
  • Strong leadership skills, fostering accountability and leading by example.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, email, phone, voicemail, and videoconferencing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with exceptional multitasking and deadline management abilities.
  • Familiarity with office administrative procedures and standard office equipment usage.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular standing, walking, handling objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with arms.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to focus on close and distant vision.
