Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly qualified individual for the role of Deputy Program Director. As Deputy Program Director, you will be responsible for the coordination and monitoring of nursing faculty and vocational nursing students within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. In addition, you will have the opportunity to proactively identify and solve problems through your creative and critical thinking skills. Primary Responsibilities:
· Contribute to the advancement of the university’s and program’s mission and objectives by evaluating student learning and promoting positive outcomes.
· Oversee the recruitment, qualifications, development, and evaluation of faculty members, in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
· Provide leadership to the faculty in the development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of the program’s curriculum plan, following shared governance and institutional and accreditation guidelines.
· Manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including advising students and overseeing direct-care clinical education.
· Address and resolve student concerns and issues, and refer students to appropriate resources and support services, such as counseling.
· Assist with the hiring, coordination, and evaluation of adjunct faculty members.
· Represent the program at program director meetings and committees.


  • Hold a master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university, with coursework in nursing, education, or administration;
  • Have at least two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure registered nursing programs;
  • Possess a minimum of one year of continuous, full-time or equivalent direct patient care experience as a registered nurse;
  • Background in college-level education is preferred;
  • Must have a valid and active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN);
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills;
  • Action-oriented with innovative thinking and flexibility;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.
