Assistant Program Director – Full Time

Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Program Coordinator to join our dedicated team.

In this role, you will work closely with and operate under the guidance of the Campus Program Director for our Vocational Nursing Program.

  • Collaborate with the Director to devise, manage, update, and evaluate all aspects of the program
  • Assist in the preparation of data and written materials required for state and Board compliance, reports, proposals, surveys, self-studies, and site visits
  • Identify and secure external resources for the nursing program
  • Evaluate the agency's capacity to provide clinical experiences that align with theory and clinical objectives
  • Ensure timely completion and approval of Facility Approval Applications prior to commencing clinical rotations
  • Oversee the prompt completion of student theory and clinical evaluations by assigned faculty
  • Maintain evaluations by students, clinical site representatives, and faculty at the conclusion of each clinical rotation
  • Assist in strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives to uphold program quality
  • Continuously strive to improve the quality of instruction
  • Ensure timely completion of clinical assignments, rotation matrices, and calendars
  • Monitor faculty adherence to policies and guidelines regarding student clinical rotation experiences
  • Regularly review student learning material
  • Maintain student records in accordance with policies
  • Submit required program reports and forms to the program's Director in a timely manner
  • Stay up to date with new technologies and safety regulations
  • Provide advising support and assist potential students in their planning process
  • Ensure all students have fulfilled necessary documentation and requirements for graduation and the state licensing exam
  • Teach theory or clinical courses for half of the time
  • Perform any other assigned duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Must possess a master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, with coursework in nursing, education, or administration
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in leading a nursing program
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a full-time faculty member in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program
  • At least one (1) year of experience teaching in an online teaching and learning environment
  • A minimum of four (4) years of continuous full-time experience as a registered nurse, providing direct patient care in geriatrics, medical-surgical, mental health psychiatric nursing, obstetrics, or pediatrics within the last five (5) years
  • Must hold a valid and active license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Action-oriented mindset with innovation and adaptability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment
