Associate Project Engineer

We are currently seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing/production facility in Charlotte, NC. As an Assistant Project Engineer, you will be responsible for creating technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software and providing support for the development and execution of capital projects. This is a local remote position, and preferred locations are GA, SC, NC, VA, MD, DE. However, we will also consider other locations in the Eastern Time Zone. Please note that up to 80% domestic travel will be required for this role.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
• Providing CAD support to the Engineering Team and Plant Operations by creating designs and drawings for equipment, materials, workflows, and processes at our harvest and prepared foods plants.
• Analyzing schematics and blueprints to ensure accuracy and compliance with company regulations and quality standards.
• Attending project meetings and reviewing projects and drawings as needed, as well as assisting in the selection of engineering materials and equipment.
• Developing and maintaining a technical documentation system.
• Collaborating with the Project Manager and Senior Plant Engineer to provide technical leadership and support for capital projects.
• Taking responsibility for facility and equipment maintenance, environmental considerations, plant energy utilization, Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), local capital planning and deployment, and management of capital projects.
Requirements for this position include a BS degree in Engineering or Architecture, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience. However, if you have additional experience in food manufacturing, we will consider that in lieu of the degree. Other qualifications and skills we are looking for include:
• Experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Preferred experience in food manufacturing.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to conceptualize designs with meticulous attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Learning agility and flexibility.
