SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Sports Medicine Specialist to provide treatment to athletes of all ages, abilities, and sports. In this role, you will be responsible for preventing, treating, and rehabilitating physical injuries, as well as addressing the emotional and mental aspects of injuries. Your expertise will be crucial in the treatment of sprains, strains, contusions, and fractures. Additionally, you will measure, examine, analyze, and provide instruction to assess the components of physical fitness in healthy and diseased individuals. Your goal will be to improve physical fitness and promote disease prevention and disability mitigation. Effective communication with athletic directors, school employees, coaches, parents, and medical professionals will be essential. You will also assist in the development and organization of individual and group rehabilitation programs. Other responsibilities include coordinating onsite sports medicine coverage, conducting pre-season and post-season physical screenings, managing injury clinics and training rooms, and budgeting for training supplies. Familiarity with standard practices for athletic training in schools and outpatient rehabilitation settings, as well as adherence to payer regulations, will be required. Critical thinking skills and a commitment to safe, high-quality care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients are essential. This role also requires exceptional customer service, ensuring the safety and effective communication with all customers. You will collaborate with other healthcare team members, comply with organizational policies and procedures, meet regulatory requirements, and uphold professional practice standards. Additionally, you will assist with daily operations, collect statistics within the medical fitness center, and complete assigned tasks and duties in a timely manner, utilizing multitasking skills. Confidentiality of customer and departmental information is essential.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify for this position, you must have graduated from an accredited program for Athletic Trainers or hold a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or an equivalent field. Certification as an Athletic Trainer is mandatory. The ability to work flexible hours is required, and current CPR certification is necessary.

This position is located south of Mount Vernon and east of Columbus. The sports medicine department has an excellent team, overseen by a highly respected director. With ongoing expansion, we are seeking a specialist to work with a local high school, which has a contract with our hospital. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as they will vary depending on the sport and event. The salary for this position falls between 50K-66K, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
