POSITION SUMMARY:
-
Working under a physician's supervision, this role involves utilizing principles, methods, and procedures to manage athletic injuries. This includes providing pre-conditioning, conditioning, and reconditioning for individuals who have experienced athletic injuries, using appropriate preventive and supportive devices. The Athletic Trainer will also provide education to coaches, athletes, parents, and medical personnel regarding athletic injury care and prevention. They will work in school systems and either a physician's office or hospital clinic to support patient care. Coverage for sporting events, as agreed upon in the Health System contract and per the hiring organization's schedule, will also be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine or related field
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Athletic Training
LICENSE and CERTIFICATIONS:
- Certification as a Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of New York

Valid NATABOC Certification

BLS Certification required, completed through the RQI system during clinical orientation

Minimum:

Must be at least 21 years old (per NYS Regulations)

1-2 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer in a high school and/or physician practice setting
