Compensation: $115,000 - $150,000

 

Must Have's:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Taxation experience
  • At least 5-7+ years of public accounting audit and tax experience
 
Strongly Preferred:
  • Active CPA license
  • Not-for-profit experience is a plus
  • Experience with privately held businesses, nonprofit organizations, and high-net-worth individuals.

A top 25 CPA firm in the Chicagoland region and a recognized regional leader is seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor / Manager to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in a dynamic practice, with a particular focus on not-for-profit clients, as well as a diverse range of other industries.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead audit and accounting engagements for not-for-profit and other clients, including pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables

  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants as part of client engagement teams

  • Develop detailed engagement work plans, budgets, and schedules; monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the main point of contact throughout engagements

  • Review and/or prepare financial statements, footnotes, workpapers, tax returns, and management letters

  • Formulate tailored audit approaches and programs, and analyze client transactions and unusual situations

  • Identify and resolve potential issues through research and consultation

  • Manage all aspects of engagements including resource allocation, billing, collections, and timely delivery of work products

  • Support the preparation of Form 990 and business tax returns related to audit engagements

  • Maintain post-engagement communication to ensure client satisfaction

 

What You’ll Need:

  • BS/MAS Degree in Accounting or related field

  • CPA preferred

  • Minimum 5-7+ years of public accounting audit and tax experience

  • Strong knowledge of audit and accounting principles; not-for-profit experience is a plus

  • Understanding of taxation concepts related to audit engagements required

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
