Job Title: Process Optimization Specialist

Location: Waterloo, IA

Salary: $80-115K plus performance-based bonus

Job Summary of the Process Optimization Specialist: As a Process Optimization Specialist, your role will involve analyzing operational and business requirements to identify and implement technical solutions for projects requiring capital investment. You will define success criteria for system requirements and select equipment that aligns with cost, schedule, and performance objectives. Additionally, you will develop and implement standards for controls and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with quality and safety regulations. Your focus will be on process optimization for filling, packaging, and other applications, collaborating within a technical team environment.

Job Responsibilities of the Process Optimization Specialist:

· Lead end-to-end execution of projects.

· Prepare comprehensive and concise project submittal packages to ensure project success.

· Evaluate infrastructure requirements and determine optimal physical placement.

· Collaborate with the Plant Engineering Manager and Project Manager to estimate capital and expense budgets.

· Create a design schedule that aligns with overall project timeline and equipment/system performance requirements.

· Develop detailed functional control and electrical descriptions for unit operations.

· Independently manage and coordinate projects.

· Foster effective teamwork and collaboration.

· Participate in plant trials and conduct experiments as needed.

·  Present written and oral technical reports to supervisors.

·  Interpret, develop, and issue technical specifications.

·  Acquire expertise in processing, filling, and packaging operating systems for designated areas.

·  Apply knowledge of food manufacturing environments.

·  Stay updated with the latest food packaging technology and commercial applications.

Education & Experience of the Process Optimization Specialist:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Robotics Engineering with a focus on controls for processing, packaging, and filling equipment design.

· Strong emphasis on controls engineering.

· 2-7 years of experience in control system design.

· Preferably with a background in food manufacturing.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD software and electrical schematics.

· Technical understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment.

· Experience with Rockwell Controls and/or GE, as well as networking.

· Ability to work in a complex facility with automation and upcoming AI projects.

· Detail-oriented with excellent teamwork skills.
