Job Title: Control Systems Engineer

Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Salary: $80-115K plus additional benefits

Job Summary for the Control Systems Engineer: An excellent opportunity for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing controls and electrical engineering requirements to develop and design technical solutions for projects that require capital investment. You will also be tasked with selecting equipment that meets cost, schedule, and performance requirements. Additionally, you will develop controls and electrical equipment standards to ensure quality and safety standards are met. You will be working in a collaborative team environment with a focus on controls and electrical equipment for processing, filling, and packaging applications.

Responsibilities of the Control Systems Engineer:

• Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring successful execution.

• Develop complete and concise project submittal packages to ensure project success.

• Assess physical location and make general arrangement placements.

• Collaborate with the Plant Engineering Manager and Project Manager to determine preliminary estimates.

• Create design schedules that align with overall project requirements.

• Write detailed functional control and electrical descriptions.

• Manage and coordinate projects independently.

• Collaborate effectively in a team environment.

• Participate in plant trials and build experiments.

• Present technical reports to supervisors in written and oral formats.

• Develop expertise in processing, filling, and packaging operating systems.

• Possess a fundamental understanding of a food manufacturing environment.

• Stay updated with the latest food packaging technology and applications.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Robotics Engineering (with a focus on controls of processing, packaging, or filling equipment design/electrical).

• Emphasis on Controls Engineering is required.

• 2-7 years of experience in control system design.

• Strong background in food manufacturing is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in using AutoCAD software and electrical schematics.

• Technical understanding of manufacturing systems and equipment.

• Experience working with Rockwell Controls and/or GE, as well as networking experience.

• Ability to work in a complex facility with automation and upcoming projects with AI technology.

• Detail-oriented and capable of working well in a team environment.
