Job Title: Automation Supervisor
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Salary: $95-120K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Automation Supervisor: The Automation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing process improvement initiatives and automation projects in the Assembly and Manufacturing areas. This role aims to drive efficiency and productivity in production cells.

Job Responsibilities of the Automation Supervisor:
• Coordinate and manage requests for capital expenditures, ensuring accurate quotes are obtained.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation to ensure adherence to manufacturing best practices.
• The Automation Supervisor should be an outcome-focused change leader, capable of strategic thinking and managing project risks in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborate on product and process design for new and existing manufacturing methods.
• Provide training support on equipment operations and preventive maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across the organization.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications relevant to job functions.
• Lead and oversee projects focused on process improvement in production.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies relevant to the field.
• Partner with the Process Improvement Committee to identify and prioritize projects aligned with strategic objectives.
• Program various programmable controllers and machines used in manufacturing processes, including PLCs, robots, CNC machines, and inspection equipment.
• Evaluate the feasibility of production improvement projects to ensure cost reduction without sacrificing product quality.
• Maintain manufacturing-related documentation such as schematics, instructions, layouts, and prints.
• Integrate improved processes into business activities, projects, and documentation following completion of process improvement initiatives.
• Comply with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 standards to maintain international certification.
• Stay updated on government regulations and requirements (EPA, OSHA, etc.) to ensure compliance of systems, cells, and equipment.

Education & Experience of the Automation Supervisor:
• Preferably hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field.
• 5-8 years of experience in project management and/or technical roles is desired.
• Possess project management skills to ensure projects are executed within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Proficient in industrial engineering and manufacturing processes, with practical experience in automation, PLC programming, robotics, robot programming, OSHA standards, and electrical/pneumatic controls.
• Skilled in data analysis, cost analysis, and problem-solving techniques. Proficiency in using statistical models to support data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to develop procedures, instructions, diagrams, etc., and train personnel on the operation and maintenance of newly installed or modified equipment.
• Ensure production processes meet safety, efficiency, reliability, and capability goals.
• Familiarity with systems/software to organize and track work progress.
• Collaborate effectively with others to generate innovative solutions.
