Technician or Mechanic (Automotive)

Our company is seeking a highly experienced automotive technician to join our team in Rochester Hills, MI. The primary responsibilities of this role include maintaining and servicing customers' vehicles with precision and efficiency while prioritizing safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify the cause of any vehicle malfunction and perform necessary repairs.
• Collaborate with the parts department to source required parts for repairs.
• Execute work as outlined on repair orders with precision and adherence to dealership and factory standards.
• Inspect assigned vehicles to determine additional safety or service work needs or recommendations.
• Immediately notify the service advisor of any additional work required, unnecessary work outlined, or if promised repair time cannot be met.
• Document all performed work and recommendations on the repair order, including clear and legible details of the customer complaint, cause, and applied correction.
• Conduct road tests on vehicles before and after required repairs or escalate to the shop foreman when necessary.
• Return repair orders to the dispatch office at the end of each workday.
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Attend department meetings and on-site factory training sessions to stay updated in the field.
• Supervise apprentice technicians when assigned to ensure quality workmanship and development.
• Report any machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain and be responsible for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, ensuring their return in the same condition as received.
• Stay updated with and comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Report any safety issues to management immediately.
• Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older. Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license in your state of residence necessary for select roles. We maintain a drug-free workplace and are committed to equal employment opportunity.
