Summary:
Our Client, a pioneering aerospace company in Mojave, CA, is seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineer to join their team. With a rich history of designing and testing innovative aircraft, our company is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology. As an Aerospace Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, integration, and testing of electrical systems and software for our prototype experimental aircraft. This is a fast-paced research and development environment where you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, from preliminary design to post-flight data analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Developing custom avionics solutions and adapting existing solutions for prototype aircraft
• Designing and implementing software and hardware solutions to solve complex problems
• Creating and maintaining electrical schematics for vehicles and test equipment
• Supporting ground and flight tests, including design, planning, and execution
• Taking ownership of product development projects
• Assisting with the installation and testing of systems
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously
Required Qualifications:
• Strong skills in software and/or electronic hardware development
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities
• Extensive knowledge of electrical technologies and products
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Ability to work in multiple engineering disciplines with tight deadlines
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in electrical system design and integration
• Knowledge of circuit board design and layout
• Familiarity with data acquisition and signal conditioning
• Understanding of avionics and aircraft electrical systems
• Proficiency in computer programming languages (C, C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, etc.)
• Expertise in embedded microprocessor or microcontroller programming
• Familiarity with hardware description languages and FPGAs
• Previous experience in rapid prototyping
• Aerospace experience (work history, pilot's license, experimental aircraft building, etc.)
• DOD Secret Clearance
• Additional degrees or relevant work experience
