Benefits Analyst II

Location: Latrobe, PA
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Benefits Analyst in Latrobe, PA.

  • This position involves administering Active Employee Health and Welfare benefit programs, as well as internal programs, with minimal supervision.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex plans and vendors, developing an annual communication project plan, and leading Benefits communications projects.
  • They will also participate in and complete Benefit Surveys annually, and administer Wellness initiatives.
  • In addition, the Senior Benefits Analyst will provide assistance to employees in understanding and utilizing assigned benefit programs, oversee the processing of administrative and claim invoices, and maintain financial records.
  • They will work closely with the Benefits Manager to ensure compliance reporting is completed, manage compliance-related mailings, and support the Benefits Specialist with enrollment maintenance in the HRIS.
  • The Senior Benefits Analyst will also participate in the configuration and functionality of the HRIS for Benefits, assist with mergers and acquisitions, and contribute to active benefit renewals, communications, and planning meetings.
  • Other responsibilities include reviewing Summary Plan Descriptions, participating in team cross-training, recommending new and improved employee benefit plans and cost-saving measures, and performing other assigned duties and special projects.

Required qualifications for the Senior Benefits Analyst:

  • A High School Degree is required, while a four-year college degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources/Benefits, with a focus on Health & Welfare plans.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with employees within an organization are essential for success in this role.
  • Technological proficiency and the ability to work with multiple applications are required.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, are highly valued.
  • Prior experience with the Workday Benefits module and working with union contracts is a plus.
  • Problem-solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are important.
  • The Senior Benefits Analyst should be able to effectively manage small projects or sub-teams and have a solid understanding of internal policy, processes, and federal/state compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills are necessary for success in this role.
