Biomedical Equipment Technician I / II (BMET)

##We are currently seeking skilled and experienced BMETs for temporary / contract positions in Athens, GA. These positions will be based in a hospital setting and require a minimum of 2-5+ years' experience as a BMET, along with an AS Degree or relevant military training. A valid driver's license is also required, and candidates must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

As a BMET I /II, your main responsibilities will include repairing, testing, and calibrating clinical equipment, as well as conducting inspections, installations, and scheduled maintenance. You will provide technical assistance and advice to medical staff, technicians, and administrators, and perform skilled tasks in the field of Biomedical Equipment Technology and general maintenance. Additional duties may also be assigned as needed.


    To be considered for this position, you should have an Associate’s, bachelor’s degree or military equivalent program in Biomedical Engineering / Electronics, Electronic Technology, or a related field. Additionally, you should have a minimum of four years' experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered if approved.

  • Holding certifications such as CBET or other relevant certifications will be a plus.
  • Prior experience in OR/ESU/Vent will also be a plus.


  1. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  2. Perform scheduled and unscheduled (PM) maintenance on clinical equipment.
  3. Install and calibrate clinical equipment.
  4. Conduct pre-purchase and contract evaluations of clinical equipment.
  5. Provide clinical support and training to staff on proper equipment operation.
  6. Occasionally travel to other facilities within an hour's distance.
  7. Comply with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program, including the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  8. Ensure compliance with governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  9. Perform any other assigned duties as needed.
  1. Education: You must have at least an Associates degree in Bio-Medical Electronics from an accredited institution.
  2. Experience: You should possess a minimum of 2-5+ years of experience in Bio-Med Equipment repair and patient care systems. The pay will be determined based on your experience and training.
  3. Skills: Strong eye/hand coordination, excellent finger dexterity, and the ability to calibrate equipment are required for this role. You should also have proficiency in computer data input-extraction and the ability to work in delicate areas with precise manipulation.
  4. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with both internal and external customers for equipment purchases and training.
  5. You must be capable of lifting over 50 pounds and working in restricted and congested areas, as well as kneeling, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
  6. Good analytical skills are necessary for troubleshooting, analyzing, and evaluating problems with solutions.
  7. You should have sufficient vision, hearing, and speaking abilities to perform your job duties effectively.
  8. A valid driver's license and willingness to drive to various locations within an approximate one-hour radius is required.
  9. Knowledge: Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge is necessary for this role, along with an understanding of electronic theory, technology, and test equipment. Familiarity with Anatomy and Physiology, as well as Medical Terminology related to clinical equipment, is desired. Basic knowledge of computers, servers, networks, and Windows operating systems is also preferred.
