- Location: Watertown, NY (Situated 70 miles north of Syracuse, near the Black River and the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River)
Summary:
- Hold an Associate Degree in BioMed equipment technology or electronic technology with equivalent BioMed experience. Possess working knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to medical and test equipment. Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills. Previous experience in biomedical field preferred. Certification as a Bio Med Equipment Technician welcomed. Must have a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Adjust, install, test, and calibrate performance of new equipment
- Ensure compliance with codes when approving potential biomedical equipment
- Maintain inventory of supplies by anticipating needs, counting stock, placing orders, and verifying deliveries
- Provide demonstrations, information, and data to operate biomedical equipment, instruct others in its care and use, and address any queries
- Perform tests, follow preventive maintenance guidelines, repair breakdowns, troubleshoot, evaluate service contracts, arrange special services as needed, and manage inventories to keep biomedical equipment functioning
- Analyze, collect, and summarize trends and information in reports
- Stay updated on job skills and knowledge by reading technical journals, pursuing educational opportunities, and building professional networks
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Explore opportunities to add value to job duties and fulfill innovative requests to support organizational goals
- Ensure a safe working environment by recommending and implementing procedures, conducting safety tests, complying with codes, and providing guidance and training to healthcare and medical personnel
