Biomedical Equipment Technician II/III

As a Biomedical Equipment Technician II/III, you will be responsible for the repair, testing, and calibration of clinical equipment, devices, instruments, and systems. Along with this, you will also be involved in inspecting, installing, and providing scheduled maintenance for clinical equipment. Moreover, you will be providing technical assistance and advice to medical staff, technicians, and administrators. Additionally, you will be performing skilled tasks in the field of Biomedical Equipment Technology and general maintenance. Other duties may be assigned to you as well.

  • EDUCATION:

    In order to be considered for this position, you must possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or have completed a military equivalent program in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics, Electronic Technology, or a related field. Moreover, you should have a minimum of four years of experience in repairing and maintaining medical equipment. However, if an equivalent combination of education and experience is approved, it may be considered as well.

  • If you have CBET or other relevant certifications, it will be a plus point for your application.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  1. Ensure compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  2. Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on clinical equipment.
  3. Install and calibrate clinical equipment.
  4. Conduct pre-purchase and contract evaluations of clinical equipment.
  5. Provide clinical support and training to staff members regarding proper usage of equipment.
  6. Assume the responsibilities of the Senior Biomed in their absence.
  7. Adhere to the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program, including the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  8. Must have a clean record free from governmental sanctions in terms of health care and financial practices.
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned to you.
  1. Education: You should possess a minimum of an Associate's degree in Bio-Medical Electronics from an accredited institution.
  2. Experience: To be eligible for this position, you must have a minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in repairing Bio-Med Equipment and patient care systems. The salary offered will be in accordance with your experience and training.
  3. Strong eye/hand coordination, excellent finger dexterity, ability to calibrate equipment, and proficiency in computer data input-extraction are required for this role. Moreover, you should be able to work with precision in delicate areas.
  4. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be required to interact with both internal and external customers for equipment purchases and training.
  5. You should be capable of lifting over 50 pounds and working in restricted and congested areas. Additionally, the ability to work in kneeling, stooping, and standing positions for extended periods is necessary.
  6. You should possess the ability to calculate equations using formulas to determine required power, troubleshoot, analyze and evaluate problems, and provide appropriate solutions.
  7. Sufficient vision, hearing, and speaking abilities are required to efficiently perform your job duties.
  8. A valid driver's license is a must as you will be required to drive to various Network locations.
  9. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge is necessary. Additionally, you should have knowledge of electronic theory, technology, and test equipment. Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, as well as Medical Terminology related to clinical equipment, is desired. You should also have a basic understanding of computers, servers, networks, and Windows operating systems.
