Business Development Manager – Irrigation District

Position: Business Development Manager - Irrigation District

Location: Colorado (Considerations will be made for candidates in UT, WY and NE)

We are a leading irrigation company specializing in integrated water solution management systems. We are currently seeking an individual to drive sales directly to irrigation districts in the Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Utah regions.

As a Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility will be to stimulate growth in the irrigation sector of the Rocky Mountain region. This will involve selling customized irrigation management solutions to districts, growers, and engineering firms.

In this role, you will lead consultative sales efforts and identify new opportunities within the market. It will be essential to establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure sustainable and valuable outcomes for our clients and customers.

To be successful in this role, you must have previous sales experience in the water infrastructure industry, specifically within the target markets. Additionally, an engineering or technical degree is preferred, as it will enable you to provide technical expertise when necessary.

Responsibilities

· Take charge of sales activities related to our irrigation solutions, targeting irrigation districts, growers, and engineering companies within the specified territory.

· Proactively seek out and pursue new business opportunities in the market.

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and customers.

· Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth.

· Track and report on sales activities, pipeline development, and market feedback.

· Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer pain points to expand our market presence.

  • Lead the design and scoping of engineering solutions.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and technical demonstrations.
  • Travel extensively within the territory.

Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field, or equivalent experience.

· 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of irrigation systems.

· Must have previous sales experience within the target market (irrigation districts, growers, engineering).

· Demonstrated success in sales.

· Experience in consultative sales approaches.
