Job Title: Business Operations Director

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Salary: $130-160K plus bonus

Summary of the Business Operations Director:: We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Business Operations to join our team. The Director of Business Operations will hold a prominent position in our leadership team and will oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing business unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational leadership, finance, and strategic planning. They will be responsible for driving performance improvements, forming a high-performing team, and aligning business unit goals with overall company objectives. Playing a key role in ensuring efficiency, profitability, and growth.

Responsibilities of the Business Operations Director:

· Influence the business unit's direction and ensure that it aligns with the company's overall objectives. Develop and execute strategic plans that drive growth, operational excellence, and efficiency.

· Take full responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) statements of the business unit. Focus on revenue growth, cost control, and ensuring profitability.

· Identify opportunities for growth and innovation by analyzing market trends and competitor strategies. Collaborate with senior leadership to expand product offerings and increase market share.

· Oversee the daily operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and regulatory requirements of the business unit.

· Promote compliance with safety and environmental policies while fostering a sustainable culture within the organization.

· Lead continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing or other methodologies to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction.

· Mentor and lead a diverse team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability. Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members.

· Act as the primary point of contact for key customers, ensuring their needs are met with a focus on quality and timely delivery.

· Identify areas for operational improvement and drive initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase efficiency using lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies.

· Collaborate with various departments including finance, supply chain, engineering, and sales to ensure smooth operations and alignment with the company's broader objectives.

Qualifications of the Business Operations Director:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

· 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, demonstrating progressive leadership in operations and successful achievement of business objectives.

· Additional custom manufacturing experience will be advantageous.

· Previous experience in scaling up a business will also be a plus.

· Strong strategic thinking abilities to drive growth, identify market opportunities, and establish scalable operational frameworks in dynamic business environments.

· Proven experience in P&L management and a strong track record of driving financial performance.

· Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.

· Prior experience leading initiatives using lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.

· Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

· Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
