SUMMARY:


As a Cardiac Cath Lab / Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Tech, you will play a crucial role in providing direct/indirect patient care and assisting in procedures before, during, and after cardiac, vascular, and interventional treatments. Your critical thinking skills will be paramount in delivering safe, high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients. Documentation accuracy, effective communication with healthcare team members, adherence to policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, and upholding professional practice standards will be essential to your success.

SOME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


- Collaborating with physicians during invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization, vascular angiograms, stenting, and pacemaker implants.
- Assessing and documenting patient history including indications/diagnosis, clinical presentation, vital signs, medication, allergies, and more.
- Establishing and maintaining IV access as ordered.
- Administering oxygen therapy according to physician orders.
- Ensuring adherence to sterile technique principles.
- Providing post-procedure and discharge instructions to patients and their caregivers.
- Developing, revising, and executing action plans for completing procedures.
- Conducting glucometer testing following policy and procedure guidelines.
- Monitoring EKG readings.
- Performing radiographic procedures and operating imaging equipment to produce angiographic and digital images (only for those with ARRT credentials).
- Administering prescribed medications, including moderate sedation drugs, under direct physician supervision.
- Delivering safe interventions in an organized and prioritized manner.
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members, physicians, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care plans.
- Offering relevant health education and instructions to patients and their families, both pre- and post-hospitalization.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:


- Completion of an accredited radiology technology program with emphasis on anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, and communication skills.
- Current radiographer license from the Ohio Department of Health and ARRT registry as an R.T. are mandatory.
- Preferred: Advanced Registry from ARRT in Cardiovascular (CV), Cardiac Intervention (CI), or Vascular Intervention (VI).
- CPR certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required.
- ACLS certification is necessary within one year.
- Preferred: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) qualification.

The department boasts an exceptional team and a highly respected director.
Work hours are full time, scheduled between 8 am and 5:30 pm, with on-call rotation one day a week and every 4th weekend.
Compensation will range from $60,000 to $90,000 based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
