What we're looking for:
•Must be licensed as an RCIS or RT(R, CV) in the State of Ohio, with a preference for at least three years of catheterization experience.
•Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications.
Hours and compensation details:
•This is a full-time day shift position from 7:30am-4:00pm. On-call shifts will rotate for evenings and weekends, with a requirement of a 30-minute response time. We offer comfortable call rooms if needed.
•Salary ranges from $26.74/hr-$36.33/hr based on experience. On-call pay is an additional $4/hour. If called in, you will receive 1.5 times your hourly rate (minimum pay for called-in shifts is 1 hour).
In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and a $10,000 retention bonus. The bonus will be paid in three installments at 6 months, 9 months, and 1 year, contingent upon a two-year agreement.
What you'll be responsible for:
•Providing professional and highly technical cardiovascular care to patients, while assisting physicians during procedures in the cardiac cath lab.
•Preparing procedure rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
•Demonstrating knowledge of equipment used in procedures, pressure monitoring, cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, EKG interpretation, sterile technique, and radiation safety protocols.
•Being proficient in scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring for all cath lab procedures.
•Inspecting and preparing operative areas as required.
•Effectively communicating relevant procedural information to physicians and other staff members.
•Maintaining strict adherence to sterile techniques and proper disposal of infected materials.
•Recording EKG information, pressure tracings, and informing appropriate personnel of any changes during procedures. Ensuring complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures and fulfilling registry abstract requirements.
•Preparing patients for emergency coronary artery bypass graft by completing necessary documentation, sending blood work to the lab, and alerting the cardiovascular team.
•Documenting all medications administered, contrast injections, attempts at vessel modification, and other important procedure-related details.
•Responding to emergency situations promptly and calling for assistance when needed. Providing post-catheterization information to patients and their families.
•Assisting cardiologists during procedures by supplying equipment and anticipating routine and special needs.
•Assisting with room clean-up after cases and preparing the room for the next procedure.
•Performing digital imaging techniques and maintaining the archival storage of digitized data.
•Collecting and entering accurate information required for ACC Data Submission.
•Demonstrating knowledge of all supplies used in cath lab procedures and assisting with tracking to ensure proper billing and inventory control.
•Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to determine and achieve healthcare goals. Possessing a strong understanding of cardiac pharmacology.
•Acquiring a working knowledge of troubleshooting equipment used in the cath lab.
•Removing arterial and venous sheaths and completing related documentation. Staying updated on closure devices and assisting with their deployment and post-care.
