Cheese Technical Manager
Our client in Saint Cloud, MN is in need of a skilled individual to fill the role of Cheese Quality Control Manager. This position is focused on managing the quality control aspects of the cheese making process. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the cheese products consistently meet high quality standards, while also optimizing the manufacturing process to increase efficiency and reduce costs. The Cheese Quality Control Manager will report to the Plant Manager and oversee a team of 2 salaried employees.
Job Duties:
· Utilize process engineering principles and technical skills to optimize cheese production operations and meet quality and yield targets.
· Analyze performance indicators and identify areas for improved efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced product quality.
· Manage product and process trials, ensuring proper documentation and collaboration with stakeholders.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, serving as both a team leader and team member.
· Provide expertise and consultation in the design and layout of new and modified plant processes and equipment.
· Assist with troubleshooting of problems, integration of new equipment and processes, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two salaried employees in the areas of cheese making and process improvement.
Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
· At least 7 years of experience in a technical, operations, or quality assurance role within the food manufacturing industry.
· Previous experience in cheese manufacturing is required.
