Chemical Production Manager

The Chemical Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a department in a chemical manufacturing facility located in Mobile, AL. The main objective of this role is to ensure the efficient and safe production of chemicals while maintaining high-quality standards. The Chemical Manufacturing Supervisor is also responsible for managing personnel, coordinating production processes, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management:

o Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the chemical production department to ensure efficient and safe production processes.

o Monitor production schedules, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation to optimize production efficiency.

o Make critical decisions and develop schedules to balance production demands and equipment maintenance needs.

o Ensure that production targets, quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements are met.

2. Team Leadership:

o Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and operational staff to ensure efficient operations.

o Coordinate training programs and promote continuous improvement in employee skills. o Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance for career development.

3. Safety and Compliance:

o Ensure adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and environmental guidelines, such as OSHA, EPA, ASME, and API.

o Implement and monitor safety measures to prevent accidents, hazardous exposures, and chemical spills.

o Investigate accidents or safety incidents and develop corrective actions. o Lead emergency response efforts within the incident command system.

4. Budget and Resource Management:

o Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.

o Oversee inventory management, ensuring availability of chemicals and materials for production.

o Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

5. Quality Control:

o Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure regulatory and customer standards are met for the final products.

o Implement quality control systems and processes to ensure the highest standard of products from the chemical plant.

6. Process Improvement:

o Continuously assess and optimize plant processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve sustainability.

o Participate in the design and implementation of process changes or upgrades.

o Keep focus on quality improvements to meet the demands of the semiconductor industry.

7. Communication and Reporting:

o Provide regular reports on production progress, issues, and performance metrics to upper management. o Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance, safety, and research and development (R&D), for seamless plant operations.

Qualifications:

Education: A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required for this role.

Experience: The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with a proven track record in a leadership or supervisory role. Experience in process optimization and safety management is crucial.
