Chief Preconstruction Estimator

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years of Preconstruction/Estimating experience in commercial construction with a General Contractor

• Strong knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts

• Proficiency with multiple estimating software platforms

• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

• Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate with internal teams and clients

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

Position Overview

As the Chief Preconstruction Estimator, you will lead and manage all Preconstruction and Estimating efforts for the Memphis region. You’ll be instrumental in establishing strategy, developing new business, and driving project success from concept to completion.

This role is key to the company’s regional growth initiative, making it one of the most impactful hires for the new office. You’ll collaborate closely with executive leadership, influence strategic decisions, and help build a strong foundation for ongoing expansion in the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all preconstruction and estimating functions, ensuring accurate project budgeting and forecasting.

• Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and contracts.

• Lead bid reviews, negotiate with subcontractors, and coordinate proposal efforts.

• Conduct detailed cost analyses and risk assessments.

• Partner with project teams to develop competitive bids and winning strategies.

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to junior estimating staff.

• Contribute to business development efforts and client relationship management.
