Civil Construction Project Supervisor

$120,000 – $130,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits

Manage and supervise ongoing projects and identify new opportunities for growth and development in a specific area, owner/client, or project type. Projects may include road reconstruction, bridge construction, street widening, roadway drainage system installation or replacement, and dirt excavation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire construction project timeline.

• Play a key role in project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

• Manage financial aspects of contracts, ensuring company interests are protected and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Responsible for overall profitability of each project and actively seek profit opportunities.

• Handle all communication between contractors and sub-contractors.

• Conduct regular site visits and monitor construction progress. Hold frequent status meetings with all team members.

• Ensure construction activities adhere to predetermined schedules.

• Develop and submit budget proposals. Make recommendations for budget revisions as needed.

• Create and deliver progress reports, proposals, and other required documentation and presentations.

• Collaborate with assigned superintendents to manage project scope changes, anticipate potential crises, and develop contingency plans.

• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and process contract change orders.

• Approve invoices, manage payroll hours, and oversee the billing process.

• Ensure compliance with contract specifications.

• Establish and nurture business relationships crucial to project success.

• Collaborate with project engineers, field engineers, and coordinators, providing guidance and direction.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, individuals must meet the following criteria. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

o Hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a relevant field. Alternatively, possess equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.

o Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a project engineer, working on heavy civil projects such as concrete structures, roadways, bridges, and dirt excavation. Projects should range between $5 million and $30 million in value.

o Demonstrate at least 2 years of successful management/supervisory experience, overseeing less experienced project engineers.

o Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in reading blueprints and specifications for heavy civil projects.

o Have at least 5 years of experience responding to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.

o Provide evidence of 5 years of experience with RFIs, change orders, and submittals.

o Demonstrate proven ability to analyze problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
