Civil Engineering Project Manager

Civil / Environmental Project Engineer

Our client, a prominent player in the oil and gas industry, is currently looking for a highly motivated and talented Civil / Environmental Project Engineer to join their expanding team. We are seeking a candidate who possesses a strong foundation in civil and environmental engineering principles and has a strong passion for delivering exceptional results in this ever-evolving industry. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating internal and external teams to support civil engineering design projects including well pads, pipeline rights-of-way, public and private roadways, and various other key initiatives that are crucial to our client's operations. This position is based in the vibrant city of Morgantown, WV.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engineering assignments related to design and permitting efforts, as well as project closeout and remediation tasks.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and assess potential project sites.
  • Supervise and provide support for detailed engineering designs and permit applications, including civil/site drawings, well plats, specifications, and cost estimations.
  • Act as a liaison between project stakeholders, including engineering consultants, surveyors, land agents, and property owners.
  • Oversee and support construction projects to ensure compliance with design plans and quality standards, while accurately documenting project modifications.
  • Coordinate and carry out field inspection services, as required.
  • Maintain budgets and invoices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional project results within deadlines.
  • Establish company standards to ensure consistent design across operating areas.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on internal and external documents, including technical reviews.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Work closely with management to ensure all work products meet quality standards.
  • Perform work both in an office environment and in the field. Travel to company locations and project sites is required, which may involve occasional overnight stays and remote work.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of multitasking, meeting deadlines, and delivering under pressure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Candidates with additional disciplines will be considered if they have relevant experience.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry within the Appalachian Basin, with a solid understanding of federal, state, and local agency regulations impacting related activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of civil engineering principles and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Prior experience in civil/site and right-of-way design and construction is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Capable of performing light work, including occasional lifting up to 15 pounds, as well as other physical activities such as kneeling, standing, walking, crouching, and using manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable operating standard office and computer equipment.
