Trial Attorney with Criminal Prosecution Background - Civil Litigation
A well-established national law firm based in Tucker, GA, is seeking an energetic and motivated Trial Attorney with a background in criminal prosecution. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in civilian warrant applications and a solid understanding of the process. This position is ideal for a former prosecutor who wants to transition into civil litigation and apply their skills in a different capacity.
Billable Hour Requirement: 1600 per year
Competitive Salary with Quarterly Incentive and End-of-Year Bonus
(Quarterly Incentive Bonus paid for hours exceeding 400 billable per quarter)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload including personal injury, contract disputes, property disputes, and professional liability.
- Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis to support case strategies and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Courtroom Representation: Represent clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations. Present arguments, examine witnesses, and negotiate settlements.
- Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
- Client Consultation: Provide advice on legal rights and obligations and offer strategic guidance for optimal outcomes.
- Civilian Warrant Applications: Utilize knowledge in civilian warrant applications to offer insights and guidance as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure comprehensive representation and client satisfaction.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on civil litigation, criminal law, and warrant application developments through ongoing professional development and training.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree: Graduate of an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Active Georgia law license.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in criminal prosecution with significant experience in civilian warrant applications. Knowledge of civil litigation is a plus.
