YOUR ROLE AT THE COMPANY

As a valuable member of our team, you will work under the direction of a project manager, project engineer, or senior staff member in the transportation department. Your role includes:

· Participating in the planning and design of transportation projects

· Creating horizontal and vertical roadway geometry designs

· Preparing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates at different stages of the project

· Compiling technical reports

· Assisting in the development of drainage and utility designs

· Conducting field visits during design and construction phases

· Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and engineering partners, actively seeking solutions that are of high quality and cost-effective

· Senior engineers (PEs) will take on a leadership role and mentor junior design staff

· Responsibilities may vary based on the candidate’s level of experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering for Engineering positions with 0 to 10 years of experience in road design and DOT projects (including grading, erosion control, water and sewer utilities, and stormwater management...). CAD tech/designers are exempt from this requirement.
• EIT or PE certification in the state of SC (or ability to obtain) preferred for Engineering positions.
• Experience in roadway design and plans preparation for SCDOT projects
• Proficiency in Microstation and Geopack Software
• Familiarity with the SCDOT Roadway Design Manual and AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
