The Director of Health Informatics is responsible for leading the development and implementation of clinical workflows in relation to the electronic medical record and other clinical technology applications. Collaborating with various departments, including clinical education, nursing, information technology, and ancillary/support, the director will establish goals and strategies to advance the organization's mission. This role will oversee a multidisciplinary team of clinical informaticists/trainers, providing support and education to clinicians while enhancing technology and optimizing workflows. The director will also act as a liaison between clinical, financial, quality, reporting, and technical disciplines, integrating information technology into clinical practices and promoting consistency and efficiency. Reporting to the system COO or CNO with dotted lines to the Physician Executive for Medical Group and system CIO, this role is crucial in driving organizational success through effective health informatics practices.
Required Education: Master's Degree, Current Ohio Nursing Licensing
Major Area of Concentration: Nursing, Nursing Informatics
Preferred Education: DNP or PhD in Nursing/Informatics or related field is preferred
Required Certifications: Epic
Required Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical nursing, education, or informatics

Job Specific Essential Functions:
- Lead the planning, development, and management of patient engagement and clinical information technologies to achieve organizational goals
- Develop and evaluate departmental budget
- Manage and mentor a team of informaticists, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Promote best practices in informatics and evidence-based practice
- Conduct needs assessments and gap analysis to identify areas for process improvement
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities, with a self-motivated and innovative approach
- Create and implement a comprehensive clinical informatics program
- Provide education and training to the clinical informatics team and interdisciplinary teams
- Develop and implement training plans for new employees and ongoing education
- Leverage clinical information systems to streamline and optimize workflows
- Collaborate with medical staff and operational teams on system-wide committees
- EPIC Certification
- ANCC-Nursing Informatics of CPHIMS (Preferred)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical nursing, education, or informatics
