Clinical Oncology Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly qualified Oncology Clinical Specialist (OCS) to join our dynamic sales team in Toledo, OH. This position offers an exciting opportunity to cover a territory that extends north to Monroe, Michigan, south to Troy, Ohio, and east to Sandusky, OH.

The OCS role is pivotal in driving the sales of oncology diagnostics. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and expanding a territory to exceed sales targets. Key responsibilities include creating a strategic territory plan, managing all business outcomes, and achieving a high return on investment. This encompasses driving daily sales activity, acquiring new accounts, retaining and growing the existing customer base, implementing cross-functional initiatives, optimizing resource utilization, and developing processes for appropriate patient identification and treatment management. The OCS will foster trusted relationships, provide physician and account education, identify strategic opportunities, and deliver innovative solutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge about our products, services, internal teams, and competitor offerings, as well as payer/reimbursement practices.
  • Achieve sales objectives and exceptional results while effectively managing revenue and expenses.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  • Forge strategic business partnerships with academic and community cancer centers, clinics, and hospitals within the assigned territory.
  • Develop a comprehensive business plan to attract and retain new and existing clients that aligns with national goals and organizational values.
  • Execute sales strategies, implement the sales and marketing plan, and capitalize on pull-through opportunities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of our products, the market, and competitors.
  • Implement laboratory services agreements (LSAs).
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other sales positions, cross-functional teams, and market partners to ensure goal attainment.
  • Conduct all business activities ethically and transparently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Proven track record with at least 5 years of success in oncology sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local oncology market, molecular diagnostics, personalized medicine, and reimbursement practices.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, financial acumen, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

  • Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of previous experience in oncology, pathology, or laboratory sales, with a proven track record. Additionally, they should demonstrate clinical and medical expertise in oncology.
