  • Shifts: D/N Rotations, EOW and Holiday.

  • Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience at the Charge Nurse level.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize multiple clinical events.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with healthcare team members, physicians, and the general public.

    Preferred: Critical care experience and familiarity with the health system for at least 1 year.

    -Responsible for coordinating clinical activities on evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts within the acute care setting. Provides clinical leadership and support to Nurses in planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering nursing care to patients at all stages of life. Collaborates with off-site Clinical Leaders, Nurse Managers, and unit staff nurses to monitor and adjust staffing levels based on patient acuity. Supports Nurses in managing emergency clinical and administrative situations. Facilitates the assessment of staff competencies and development needs, particularly on shifts and weekends. Provides guidance and mentoring to clinical staff for the practice of professional nursing. Actively participates in nursing leadership committees, seminars, and problem-solving groups to improve patient care and the practice of nursing.

    Job Duties:
    -Promotes the professional development of staff and creates a supportive environment for growth. Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of healthcare delivery on assigned shifts. Provides coaching and mentoring to staff. Demonstrates clinical and leadership expertise. Ensures staff accountability for professional practice. Makes ethical decisions and takes actions accordingly. Maintains a safe and conducive environment for clinical nursing practice.
    -Collaborates with Nursing Leadership, Nursing staff, and other stakeholders to identify and solve issues constructively. Responds promptly to customer complaints. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Upholds regulatory agency standards, professional practice standards, the Nurse Practice Act, and clinical protocols.
    -Serves as a liaison between off-shift and weekend staff and Nursing leadership to enhance patient outcomes. Establishes effective communication processes. Fosters a culture of open communication and collegial relationships within the organization and the healthcare community. Regularly communicates with Nurse Managers and other Nursing leaders.
    -Applies sound decision-making principles to balance patient care needs with available staff resources. Allocates resources efficiently and safely to provide compassionate nursing care in accordance with current standards. Identifies resources that ensure interventions are safe, effective, efficient, and culturally sensitive.
    -The job may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Tasks may require potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
