CMM Supervisor

Our client, a prominent international manufacturer of automotive stamped metal components, is currently seeking a highly qualified Quality Metrology Supervisor to join their team in Cartersville, GA.
The Quality Metrology Supervisor will play a vital role in ensuring the day-to-day operation of all CMM equipment and gage calibration. They will be responsible for managing a team of Team Leads, Engineers, Techs, Operators, and other associates to maintain quality systems and meet customer requirements.
Essential Functions
To perform this role successfully, the Quality Metrology Supervisor must:
1. Adhere to established safety rules and regulations.
2. Coordinate actions and activities to continuously improve the quality management system and strive for zero defects.
3. Provide support to necessary manufacturing operations.
4. Identify quality issues and drive corrective actions to resolve them.
5. Collaborate with other QA staff to implement root cause analysis.
6. Ensure timely creation of data analysis and reports for all parts.
7. Collect and analyze SPC data to proactively identify potential quality issues.
8. Conduct internal training for quality.
9. Communicate customer requirements across the organization.
10. Oversee dimensional analysis to accurately report data.
11. Schedule team members to provide necessary support for production.
12. Provide support for special projects involving various departments and utilize the CMM.
13. Make necessary revisions to CMM Programs in response to Engineering Changes.
14. Create CMM programs based on customer standards and tolerances.
15. Lead and mentor team members.
16. Verify and validate countermeasures and process adjustments.
17. Conduct daily meetings.
18. Follow the 5S training guidelines.
19. Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on company needs and skills level.

The ideal candidate for the Quality Metrology Supervisor position should possess the following qualifications:
1. Computer literacy.
2. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
3. Preferred but not required: Proficiency in written and spoken German.
4. Preferred but not required: Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish.
5. Strong problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent organizational skills.
7. Knowledge and experience in automotive quality standards (ISO/IATF 16949).
8. APQP knowledge and experience.
9. Experience in inspection techniques and equipment.
10. Proficiency in setting up and running CMM using Metrologic X4 Software.
Supervisory Responsibility
As the Quality Metrology Supervisor, you will supervise all associates assigned to your team, as defined in the Quality Organizational Diagram. Your responsibilities will include attendance scheduling, monitoring, training, and disciplining. Additionally, you will provide leadership and support for special projects involving various departments, make necessary revisions to CMM Programs based on Engineering Changes, and create CMM programs according to customer standards and tolerances.
Work Environment
The work environment may include exposure to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring the use of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the shop floor.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. You may also be required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, talk, or hear. Regular lifting and/or moving of objects weighing up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting and/or moving of objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting and/or moving of objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, occasional work outside of these hours, including weekends, may be required to meet customer demands.

Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary. Local travel within a 200-mile radius may be mandatory upon request by a manager.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of two years of prior experience in supervising a Metrology lab.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science/Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
2. Minimum of two years of prior supervisory/managerial experience.
3. Minimum of five years of prior Quality experience in the Automotive Manufacturing industry (preferred).
4. Experience using Metrologic X4.
