CNC Field Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit customer sites to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing equipment performance; conduct preventive maintenance on customer machine tool equipment
  • Resolve issues related to electrical and mechanical components
  • Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and external resources to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues
  • Effectively communicate machine issues, installation status, or machine repair progress to customers; ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted to the office and customer
  • Take ownership of customer-related problems and collaborate with relevant departments, if required, to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay updated with the latest developments in the field
  • Maintain a comprehensive technical knowledge of the company's product lines
  • Stay informed about vendor products and new technologies, and implement them as appropriate
  • Deliver machine maintenance training as part of after-sales technical support
  • Perform any other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • An Associate's degree in a related field is preferred, but a High School Diploma/GED is required
  • Ideally, have at least 5 years of experience as a CNC Field Service Technician or Engineer; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience working with CNC controls; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly advantageous
  • Have a basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail and technical aptitude
  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings and schematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs and other relevant business software
  • Will be required to work unscheduled overtime without prior notice
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have auto/vehicle insurance
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 50% of the workweek, with some overnight travel
  • Must have basic hand tools for electrical/mechanical repairs
