CNC Field Service Technician

We are seeking a CNC Service Engineer to join our team in Bowling Green, KY.

  • You will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls.
  • Your main goal will be to identify opportunities for enhancing equipment performance and promoting preventative maintenance practices for customer machine tool equipment.
  • You will use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and both internal and vendor resources to research and resolve machine issues related to electrical and mechanical components.
  • As the CNC Service Engineer, you will need to effectively communicate machine issues, installation progress, and machine repair status to customers, ensuring proper documentation is completed and submitted.
  • Ownership of customer-related problems and coordination with other departments to ensure satisfactory resolution will be expected.
  • You will need to stay updated on new developments in the field by participating in meetings, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of the product lines represented by our company will be required.
  • You should stay informed about vendor products and new technology that can be implemented to improve our services.
  • An important aspect of your role will involve conducting machine maintenance training as part of our after-sales technical support.
  • Performing any other assigned duties will also be expected.

Your qualifications:

  • A preferred qualification for this position is an Associate’s degree in a related field; however, a High School Diploma/GED is the minimum requirement.
  • Having at least 5 years of experience as a CNC Field Service Technician or Engineer is highly preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • You must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with CNC controls, with experience using Fanuc controls being extremely beneficial.
  • A basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics is required for this role.
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and technical aptitude are necessary to succeed in this position.
  • You should be able to read and understand drawings and schematics to effectively perform your duties.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other relevant business programs is expected.
  • You must be willing to work unscheduled overtime as required.
  • A valid driver’s license and auto/vehicle insurance are required for this position.
  • The ability to travel regionally up to 50% of the workweek, with some overnight travel, is expected.
  • You will need to provide basic hand tools for electrical and mechanical repairs.
