Job Title: Machining Technician

Location: Dayton, NV

Salary: $20-25 per hour

Job Summary for the Machining Technician: The Machining Technician is responsible for examining blueprints and work instructions in order to produce accurate work that meets quality standards, safety guidelines, and allotted timeframes. They must also focus on efficiency and productivity, minimizing waste and maintaining a clean work area at all times.

Job Responsibilities of the Machining Technician:

  • Become familiar with the complete scope and proposed design methods for each assigned project.
  • Review blueprints, work instructions, and the production schedule to ensure product specifications and completion within given timeframes.
  • Accurately record job details, labor, and attendance information using designated computer systems like ERP.
  • Stay focused on the task at hand, work efficiently, minimize waste, and complete work within the allocated labor hours.
  • Select appropriate equipment and materials, verify their integrity, and maintain specifications throughout the work process by making necessary adjustments.
  • Utilize gauges, hand tools, and precision measurement tools to validate and inspect products for quality assurance.
  • Report any internal or external mistakes or issues that may hinder operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve overall efficiency, reduce job costs, and run times.
  • Perform regular maintenance and service checks on tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and ensure equipment is in proper condition.
  • Work independently or collaborate with machine shop, engineering, and other employees to complete orders as needed or requested.

Education & Experience for the Machining Technician:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; an associates degree in CNC Machining, Tool & Die Making, or a related field is preferred.

· At least six months of combined experience and education in a manufacturing environment is required.

· Experience as a CNC Operator (Mills & Lathes) or Multi-Axis CNC Operator is preferred.

· Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills are necessary to operate equipment and troubleshoot errors.

· Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, and effectively use precision measurement tools and gauges.

· Ability to work well in a team or individual setting is necessary.
