Commercial HVAC and Electrical Technician

Location: Clinton, IA

This position involves the upkeep of HVAC systems, providing assistance to the maintenance electrician in day-to-day industrial electrical maintenance tasks, and working together with other maintenance shop members.

We are seeking someone with the following qualifications:

  • Execute responsibilities in compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal, and local laws.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all kinds of industrial and commercial equipment related to facilities, following the Manufacturer O&M requirements.
  • Effective troubleshooting and repair skills for major and minor HVAC equipment, such as air-handling units (AHUs), condensers, compressors, water cooling towers, chillers, boilers, circulation pumps and motors, and/or systems with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic circuits.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Ability to conduct building (plumbing and electrical) and equipment repairs using hand tools, power tools, and troubleshoot electrical circuits using a volt-ohm meter.
  • Assemble components based on supplied instructions or drawings, and create simple components, assemblies, or machine modifications.
  • Perform equipment maintenance tasks including lubrication using oil or grease pumps/guns, disassemble, overhaul, and reassemble complex components, and replace defective electrical components or mechanical parts with original manufacturer parts.
  • Submit completed PM summaries and QC reports to the Contract Maintenance Manager.
  • Source and collect ordered parts or supplies, and restock parts or supplies as necessary.
  • Comply with all equipment, safety, and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training and mentoring other mechanics.
  • Perform assigned related duties.

Required Knowledge:

  • Proper procedures for equipment maintenance and safety regulations.
  • Technical expertise in commercial HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of building trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Troubleshooting skills for facilities, equipment, controls, and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
