Commercial Real Estate Paralegal
We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Corporate Property Legal Assistant to join our prestigious law firm. This full-time position is based in Baton Rouge, LA and will involve providing support to a team of attorneys in our Business practice group. As a Corporate Property Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for performing various legal tasks under the supervision of the attorneys. The ideal candidate will possess strong technological proficiency, a strong work ethic, and impeccable attention to detail. Additionally, knowledge of real estate, contracts, and transactional law is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in complex commercial real estate and corporate transactions, including the creation of disbursement statements, closing documents, and title policies. Experience in all aspects of pre and post-closing processes for commercial real estate and finance transactions is required. This includes communication with relevant parties, ordering title, reviewing and clearing titles, preparing title commitments, obtaining payoff letters, organizing loan documents, disbursing closed files, and issuing final title policies.
- Analyze title documents, legal descriptions of real property, and surveys;
- Coordinate with external title companies and law firms to address title insurance policy issues and satisfy closing conditions.
- Handle post-closing matters and oversee the preparation of closing binders.
- Draft UCC financing statements, contracts, financial documents, resolutions, and corporate documents.
- Meet billing requirements and deadlines for the position.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required. A four-year college degree and/or a certificate in paralegal studies is preferred. Substantial prior experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
- At least 3-5 years of paralegal experience, specifically in commercial real estate law.
- Proficiency in MS Office Software Suite and a working knowledge of a document management system are essential.
- Familiarity with current technology and experience in utilizing electronic resources and support software are strongly preferred.
- Excellent time management, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and strong proofreading skills are required.
