Complex Human Resources Manager

Key Responsibilities: lead the Human Resources department of a prominent meat and poultry processing plant. This role encompasses various duties including staffing, safety protocols, fostering associate relations, and managing employment data processes. The Senior HR Operations Manager will ensure that all procedures align with company policies and meet compliance requirements such as AAP, EEOC, DHS, DOL, and OSHA. The specific responsibilities include:
  • Conceptualize and implement innovative programs to engage employees and contribute to the local community.
  • Develop and execute an effective recruitment and selection strategy to attract both exempt and non-exempt professionals and maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Create and manage processes with measurable metrics to effectively reduce turnover rates.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations related to AAP, EEOC, DOL, DHS, OSHA, among others.
  • Strategically plan and set objectives for Human Resources, including the development and regular updates of an annual HR business plan aligned with field operation initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by introducing and implementing fresh ideas and concepts that propel HR and overall business growth.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Human Resources. Prior experience in the food and consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing industry is essential to excel in this role. The position presents an experienced professional with an opportunity to independently lead the HR department of a large poultry processing plant.
The ideal candidate should have:
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing various functions such as AAP, OSHA, EEOC, DHS, DOL, and managing staffing for exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Proven track record of supervising HR associates resulting in innovation, accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Prior experience with HRIS systems, reducing turnover, and expertise in developing and maintaining employee recognition programs. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the ability to provide effective training, coaching, and mentoring to supervisors in managing the workforce.
  • Capability to supervise Safety operations and control worker compensation costs, TRIR, and LTR.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to effectively organize multiple projects and protocols, ensuring timely completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing and resolving complex issues at both strategic and functional levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to building positive interpersonal relationships and possess a solid understanding of team performance and effective coaching.
  • Willingness to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and company-related matters as required.
  • SHRM certification would be highly desirable.
