Construction Associate Attorney

Our client, a well-established national law firm, is in search of a talented and dedicated Associate Attorney to join their expanding Construction practice group located in Nashville. This role provides excellent opportunities for advancement and the chance to build a successful career in the field of construction law.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate:

• Successful completion of a Juris Doctor (JD) program from a highly regarded law school, along with an outstanding academic track record.
• Active license to practice law in the state of Tennessee.
• Approximately 1–4 years of valuable experience in construction law, encompassing both litigation and transactional matters.
• Proven experience representing owners and developers in the resolution of construction disputes, including issues related to delays, liens, compensation, and quality-of-work.
• Background in construction transactions, particularly in the areas of planning, negotiation, design, and construction phases for complex projects.
• Exceptional writing skills, with proficiency in complex legal drafting for both litigation and transactional cases.
• An added advantage would be a background in the construction industry prior to attending law school.
• Preferred experience in courtroom proceedings and depositions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients involved in various construction-related disputes, providing legal defense for owners and developers in litigation, arbitration, and other methods of dispute resolution.
• Handle intricate construction transactions from the initial planning stage to the completion of projects, offering legal support in contract negotiations, project planning, and risk management.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled attorneys in a dynamic, challenging, and supportive work environment, contributing to both transactional and litigation matters.
