Continuous Improvement Engineer

Our client is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer (Food Service Equipment Manufacturing) to join their expanding team. In this position, you will apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles to solve problems and address long-term process enhancement and capital equipment projects. You will directly report to the Director of Safety and Process Enhancement.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a lead on continuous improvement projects and kaizen events, utilizing methodologies such as Lean and the 80/20 Pareto Principle to drive ongoing process enhancements.
  • Develop detailed processes through Value Stream Maps (VSMs), documenting both current and future state workflows.
  • Collect and analyze data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to quantify process inefficiencies and monitor improvements over time.
  • Evaluate existing organizational processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop and propose practical solutions, which may include process redesign, automation, or technology enhancements.
  • Facilitate change management efforts by effectively communicating proposed improvements, obtaining buy-in from stakeholders, and ensuring successful implementation.
  • Create training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation to ensure the effective adoption and maintenance of optimized processes by teams.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in continuous improvement, preferably within a metal fabrication or assembly operation
  • Ability to effectively lead a team in Kaizen events and collaborate with staff at all levels
  • Proven experience in process improvement
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis
