Job Description
We are currently in need of a control systems engineer based in Sugar Land, TX. The primary responsibilities of this role include programming, system configuration, system documentation, factory acceptance testing, and field start-up and commissioning activities. Specific experience with Honeywell and DeltaV systems is required.
Qualifications
Required
- B.S. degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Strong proficiency in programming and working with Honewell and DeltaV Distributed Control Systems
- Extensive knowledge of Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols
- Familiarity with control panels, panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams
- Solid understanding of P&IDs, including the ability to develop new P&IDs, review existing ones, and develop Instrument & I/O Lists from P&IDs
- Familiarity with ISA tagging conventions
Desirable
- Proficiency in programming other platforms such as Allen-Bradley PLCs, Inductive Automation Ignition HMIs, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform HMIs, Rockwell FactoryTalk View HMIs, GE iFIX HMIs, Omni Flow Computer, ROC, and Load Metering Devices
- Experience in developing operational and technical manuals, including training guides, HMI manuals, and operating procedures
- Knowledge of Electrical Protection Relays and Historian systems
- Familiarity with external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.) and DeviceNet / Profibus communications protocols
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives
- Contribute to the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables
- Participate in field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns
- Develop DCS/PLC/HMI programming
- Perform factory acceptance testing and field start-up and commissioning, including troubleshooting support
- Contribute to client training efforts
- Provide after-hours support for internal and external clients as needed
- Collaborate with Senior Engineering Leads and Project Managers to ensure deliverable quality and budget adherence
- Be willing to travel approximately 25% of the time, including air travel
