Control Systems Engineer
We are a company specializing in various industrial projects in the Refining, Gas & Oil, Pipeline, Renewable, Chemical, and Biopharm Industries, focusing on Automation and Engineering. Currently, we are seeking a qualified Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Gonzales, LA. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical acumen and expertise in all aspects of control systems engineering. We are looking for someone who can thrive in a collaborative work environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Summary:
The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, development, implementation, and commissioning of PLC, DCS, and HMI systems. In addition, they will utilize their extensive technical knowledge to introduce innovative approaches to control systems design and engineering.
Technical Skills:
- Take full technical ownership of interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assigned tasks.
- Undertake specialized technical work involving the development of systems engineering, distributive and/or computer controls of processes.
- Establish basic designs and specifications for control systems and associated instrumentation.
- Create new control concepts when necessary.
- Keep the Project Manager updated on scope changes and deviations from the contract, and submit trend reports for change orders.
- Oversee all control system design work, including installation drawings, loop drawings, logic diagrams, and vendor drawings.
- PLC / HMI Programming:
- Proficient in PLC programming (Triconex, HIMA, Honeywell SM, Allen Bradley preferred).
- Experience with HMI programming (Wonderware, PanelView, and RSView preferred).
- Familiarity with P&ID’s, Logic Diagrams, Cause / Effect matrices, and Functional Narratives.
- Develop test procedures.
- Conduct cutovers/loop checks.
- Assist with startup and troubleshoot as needed.
- Provide operations/maintenance training.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' experience.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technological field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
